Setting up the Mayku Multiplier

Follow these steps to unpack your Mayku Multiplier.

• First Make Kit

TIP: We recommend placing the Mayku Multiplier box in a well ventilated open area. Due to its size and weight, you’ll need a second person to help you during unboxing and lifting.

1. Unbox the First Make Kit. This comes with essential items needed to use the Mayku Multiplier, including a power cable, a sample template for initial tests, and some sheet materials. You can put these to one side for now.
2. With a pair of scissors or a knife, cut the Mayku Multiplier box straps and remove the cardboard lid.
3. Take out the Mayku Multiplier Activation Leaflet and scan the unique QR code to register your Mayku Multiplier. You'll also find a comprehensive instruction manual - please read and keep this for future reference.
4. Remove the toolkit with an allen key and a microfiber cloth for machine maintenance.
5. Remove the foam lid and the cardboard box. With the help of another, lift the Mayku Multiplier with and position it on a sturdy surface. We recommend keeping the original packaging in a safe place, as they are required to make a warranty claim.
6. Connect the power cable to the Mayku Multiplier, switch it on, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Connect the Mayku Multiplier to your Wi-Fi network to get the latest firmware updates. This includes new features, functionalities, and material compatibility so your machine runs at optimal performance. You can also choose to enable analytics here, which will improve the Mayku Multiplier's user experience in the future.

On the Mayku Multiplier interface, select Menu > Firmware > Check for updates

Updates are completely silent and will happen automatically as long as your Mayku Multiplier is connected to Wi-Fi.
 

Registration takes just two minutes and will ensure optimal performance of your Mayku Multiplier. It also activates your warranty and should be done within 30 days of purchase.

If you haven't already registered using the leaflet's QR code, you can use the QR code that will appear on the Mayku Multiplier’s display when starting up.

Now that the installation is complete, it's time to create your first form using the sample template and materials from the First Make Kit.

1. To begin the forming process, navigate to the Mayku Multiplier menu and select your desired material and thickness. The template serves as a demonstration of the machine's capabilities and provides a foundation for thermoforming design principles. Position the material within the forming area, secure it in place, and allow the air tanks to pressurise.
2. The Mayku Multiplier will automatically heat the sheet to the appropriate temperature. Once heated, place the sample template onto the forming area. Follow the on-screen instructions to lower the lid, secure the bottom lock, and press the button. This action will release compressed air into the forming chamber, applying significant pressure to shape the material.
3. After the part has cooled down, unlock and open the Mayku Multiplier. Remove the formed part and take out the template. Inspect the part and the forming score on the Mayku Multiplier for quality. This score will help you achieve better results in the future.
