Manufacturing an automotive casing with the Mayku Multiplier

Pressure forming is a popular manufacturing process for producing automotive parts with strength, stiffness, and chemical resistance. The Mayku Multiplier offers precision and detail for automotive casings, with materials and thicknesses that can achieve high impact strength and low heat and electrical conductivity. Application considerations

There are some key considerations for automotive applications

Template design

We recommend using 0.75mm air holes, draft angles of at least 8º on all sides, and using a female mold for maximum detail

Template manufacturing

Manufacturing the templates with SLA 3D printing offers great flexibility and template quality for short production runs

Template finishing

The Multiplier picks up all texture, so cleaning up every detail in post-processing is recommended

Choosing ABS material

Use ABS if your application requires high stiffness and good impact and chemical resistance

ABS part removal

Use a hot knife or kevlar scissors for small runs, and automate with a CNC machine for large runs
